"THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who has prayed, reposted, searched and/or reached out to our family on behalf of our daughter Alexis! There is so much we could say, we don’t even know where to start. We are so grateful that Alexis is safe and she is back here in our home.
Alexis will be 18 in a couple weeks and is struggling with what she wants in life. Like many teenagers, she desires the safety and comforts of home on the one hand and on the other, desires the perceived freedom and consequence-free life of living on her own.
As many of you know Alexis has Asperger’s Syndrome coupled with a few other unique challenges. (If you are interested in knowing more about Asperger’s, I highly recommend the children’s book “All Cats Have Asperger’s” for the most simple explanation.) Alexis chose not to come home last night and not to contact us.
She has expressed remorse and has promised not to ever do that again. This experience has increased our faith in God and His love for Alexis, for us and for our family. We have been buoyed up by love and support from you…..our friends and family. Your prayers, acts of service, willingness to help in anyway, crying with us……all of it…. have humbled us to our very core. We are amazed and grateful for the power of social media and the way the news of her missing spread so quickly throughout the world.
We have felt God’s love for us through YOU and we are grateful beyond words. Heart breaking tears have been replaced by tears of gratitude. Thank you for your continued prayers on Alexis’ behalf. We believe in miracles! With great love! —— Mike, Amy & Family”
